Laser Harp Meets Light Art: A Mesmerizing Collaboration at Museumsnacht Koblenz 2024
On September 7, 2024, the city of Koblenz transformed into an artistic haven during Museumsnacht, a night dedicated to cultural and artistic exploration. Among the highlights was the exceptional collaboration between laser harp musician and composer Frank von Häfen and Italian light artist Nino Alfieri, hosted by the Koblenz Art Club e.V. under the careful curation of Angelika Kallenbach and Elias Maya. The event captivated attendees with a unique fusion of sound and light. Frank von Häfen’s laser harp performance, a blend of visual spectacle and electronic soundscapes, created an immersive environment that responded to the light-infused canvases of Nino Alfieri. Together, the two artists from different creative worlds harmonized their talents, crafting an ephemeral duet that left audiences spellbound. Nino Alfieri, a Milan-based light painter, brought his innovative photo-reactive canvases to life. Feast for the senses captures longings”, Rhein Zeitung – 07/11/23
Koblenz. As if gazing upon a rare celestial phenomenon, the audience looks up with rapt attention. The vernissage that took place in the premises of the Koblenz Art Association marked the beginning of the “Transcendence” exhibition just a few days ago. However, the term “exhibition” only partially applies to about one-third of the artistic expressions that visitors had the opportunity to experience, closely gathered for the first time. In reality, this fascinating triptych consists of elements of projection, music, and painting. The synesthesia of the artwork captures human desires such as faith, love, and hope. Immersive art is the new buzzword. In this context, spectators find themselves at the very heart of the artwork during the projection, with the first component being video projection. Thanks to multiple projectors, it is possible to project moving images at 360 degrees, both on the walls and the ceiling. In their trajectory, they brush…
Eternal Encompassing by Arnaud Quercy
Hope Acrylic on canvas, 89x116cmArnaud Quercy Creations / AQC0497 / 2023 “Eternal Encompassing” visually embodies Emily Dickinson’s “Hope.” “Hope” is the thing with feathers –That perches in the soul –And sings the tune without the words –And never stops – at all – « Against a fervent red backdrop, Quercy weaves symbolism, featuring a pregnant woman as the embodiment of hope’s nurturing potential. A delicate black line envelops her, symbolizing hope’s protective embrace, while a small man underscores the humility in facing hope’s vastness. Bold black lines represent life’s challenges, reflecting hope’s unwavering journey. » Koblenzer Kunstverein E.V exhibition 29.10.23 – 15.11.23 #koblenzerkunstverein #acrylicpainting #contemporaryart #artgallery Eternal Encompassing – Arnaud Quercy Creations (arnaud-quercy-creations.com)

The videos also run over the paintings of the Parisian artist Arnaud Quercy, who has composed them to incorporate elements from his pictures. The paintings come to life, so to speak. This system is powered by five synchronized micro-computers, each programmed to control specific aspects of the projections. The synchronization allows the visuals to flow seamlessly across the gallery’s walls and ceiling, creating a cohesive environment that immerses audiences in the artwork. Every projector was meticulously calibrated to align with the gallery’s architecture, allowing for precise mapping that covers every corner of the space. “Creating this level of immersion is all about precision,” Quercy explains. “Each…

From Concept to Reality: The Vision Behind Transcendence
Date: July 2023 It started with a sketch on a piece of paper in a Parisian brasserie—a chance meeting between Parisian visual artist Arnaud Quercy and German composer Frank von Häfen in winter 2022. They sat together at a corner table, exchanging ideas, and the vision for Transcendence took shape. What they mapped out on that day was the foundation for an immersive experience that would soon bridge sound, light, and visual art. Inspired by shared themes of faith, love, and hope, Quercy and von Häfen envisioned an art project that would immerse audiences in a multisensory journey, where each element was designed to resonate emotionally and visually. The Concept: Bridging Art and TechnologyTheir vision went beyond a traditional exhibition or concert.
